In 1995, Dr. Poelking received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic and moved back to his hometown of Kettering, Ohio to start his practice. As time passed, he has built one of the most advanced, state-of-the-art practices with one goal in mind - Do what is best for the patient. With that as his goal, he assembled a truly gifted team of healthcare providers who share his passion and give 110% everyday to meet your needs. As a previous collegiate athlete at the University of Louisville, you will not find a more competitive provider for the treatment of your condition. His commitment in the office is every bit as strong as it was on the football field.
Please take a minute to read through the following biographies to learn more about the caring and capable people who make up the team behind Poelking Chiropractic.
Hello. I'm Dr. T.J. Poelking and I want to thank you for visiting our website and taking time to get to know us.
I was born and raised here locally in Kettering, Ohio. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Louisville and received a bachelor's degree in Biology as a pre-medicine major. As a scholarship athlete, I sustained a serious sports injury and from that learned first-hand how chiropractic can have a significant impact on the quality of one's life.
During my recovery, I learned the importance of treating the cause of an injury, not just the symptoms. The impact chiropractic had on me was profound and lead me to seek a degree of Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
In February of 1995, I received my license to practice in the state of Ohio and decided to return home to the Kettering area and have been helping patients in the surrounding Dayton area since then. I am certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the Ohio State Board and am a member of the Miami Valley Chiropractic Association.
I have been a Certified Provider by the Bureau of Worker's Compensation for the last 20 years and have dedicated a large portion of my practice to helping those with personal and job related injuries. I know how hard it can be to find acute and rehabilitative care under one roof and that is what I set out to provide. Still, as my practice developed, I gravitated to helping older patients with chronic back pain who have been all but ignored by the traditional medical community. I have genuinely enjoyed being able to help patients who had lost hope, thought surgery was their only option or were just frustrated with their medical doctor's "learn-to-live-with-it" attitude. It is most rewarding to watch these patients discover they still have a good quality of life ahead of them and to see them realize they don't have to live with back pain.
I am proud to say that I work closely with the traditional medical community offering adjunctive therapies and solutions to their difficult-to-treat back pain patients. Best of all, because of my passion and commitment to my patients to improve their quality of life outcomes, I am often blessed with the bests compliment of all - referrals from my past patients. I will always work to earn and maintain your trust and respect as your doctor.
